Location information for Brussels Airport

Information

Brussels is the capital of Belgium and is part of the regional area that is also its namesake, Brussels – officially the Brussels Capital region – which is the considered to be the capital of the European Union. The city of Brussels was founded in the year 580 but it has grown much bigger since then. Currently, it encompasses an area of a little over 32 square kilometers and spans not only the ancient city of Brussels but also neighboring towns such as Louise Avenue and Laeken. Brussels is densely populated; as of 2006, the city's total population was recorded to be more than 140,000, of which a significant portion are non-natives of the city of Brussels.

This Western European municipality is a city of contrasts. It is here that the old (say, the old city of Brussels) jostles with the new (the much bigger Brussels). It is a city that is an exciting mix of the old and the new, a rich history and a promising future. Explore the city of Brussels and you'll know what this statement means.

Transport

To get to Brussels, you may fly in to the Brussels Airport (officially the Brussels National Airport) which is curiously not located in the city of Brussels but instead situated in the municipality of Zaventem. In the Brussels Airport, car hire companies like Avis and National have car hire booking or reservation desks in-terminal.
