Although terminal 1 was indicated on the booking. The rental was booked out of terminal 2. After waiting for 90 mins at terminal 1 we had to then go to terminal 2 to collect the car

Situated in the Brittany northeast of northwest France, Fougeres is an interesting town with medieval roots and a massive chateau. Cheap car hire in Fougeres can be had to take advantage of the historic town and the delectable countryside.

Fougeres boasts a twin town of old and new and a huge chateau – Chateau de Fougeres - and is also twinned with towns in the UK (Ashford, Kent), Germany (Bad Münstereifel), and Nicaragua (Somoto). The old castle, or chateau, is located up on a hill and was used to defend the Duchy of Brittany (small Britain) from the French. It is a famous monument and the main sight to check out with car rental in Fougeres.

In addition to the expansive chateau and many other ancient landmarks in and around the town is the Fougeres Belfry, which is one of only three in the province. It is beautifully maintained and the focus of a weekend market. The 14th century belfry provided invaluable timekeeping to merchants of the period and is highly photogenic.

With car rental in Fougeres there is tons to see within reach of the town, including Le Mont Saint Michel on the Bay of Biscay, not far from Saint Malo. It is only about an hour or so northwest of town and is one of the most stunning structures in France. An abbey sits sentinel-like atop a small islet and has fine views.

Also worth seeing with car hire in Fougeres is the Mayenne countryside and the small town of L'Echerbaudière towards the east, as well as the pumping town of Rennes to the southwest.
