Although terminal 1 was indicated

Although terminal 1 was indicated on the booking. The rental was booked out of terminal 2. After waiting for 90 mins at terminal 1 we had to then go to terminal 2 to collect the car

Gaillac is a pleasant market town in the south of France best known for its many vineyards and tasty wines. It is close to Toulouse and its international airport, which makes it all the more appealing, plus you can pick up cheap car hire in Gaillac, too.

The town itself is ancient and has been around since the time of the Romans in Gaul. Although only a market town, Gaillac is pretty impressive and is the hub of the region in general. There are a fair few sights worth seeing in the town but it is best to get out into the countryside with car rental in Gaillac and check out the vineyards.

The wines are renowned throughout the region, nation and wider world, and most vineyards will allow you to tour their facility and do some tasting. They virtually enclose the entire town so you can head out in just about any direction with car rental in Gaillac and happen upon one. The best of the countryside is a few kilometres to the northwest.

Sights to check out within Gaillac itself include the impressive 10th century Abbey Saint Michael, which is huge and has been enhanced. Its heavy main doors are particularly impressive. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
