Although terminal 1 was indicated on the booking. The rental was booked out of terminal 2. After waiting for 90 mins at terminal 1 we had to then go to terminal 2 to collect the car

Location information for Le Trait

The town of Le Trait in the upper Normandy region of France is situated on the banks of the River Seine inland from Le Havre. It is a former shipbuilding town and still has an active port though the area is less industrial now. The town is close to historic Rouen which can be reached by cheap car hire in Le Trait.

Le Trait is quite typical of the small towns you find throughout France. It has a fairly laid back atmosphere that can provide a relaxed end to a day seeing the many sights in the area with car rental in Le Trait. Accommodation is limited here and you will find a good selection of local food available in its eateries.

There are a couple of things to see in Le Trait during your stay; the 13th century church of St Nicolas and the ruined remains of a castle built in the 12th century. However, most visitors use the town as their preferred base for seeing the popular attractions of the regions capital, Rouen.

The best way to get to Rouen is with car hire in Le Trait. The biggest attraction here is the subject of several Monet paintings now on display in Paris, Rouen Cathedral. Also worth seeing is the birthplace of the writer Gustave Flaubert that is now a museum and the modern Joan of Arc church.

Getting to Le Trait is reasonably straightforward as there are various ways to get to Rouen from within France before transferring to the town. The best option from the UK is the ferry to either Le Havre or Calais from where local transport is available.
