Mannheim Airport, more often known as Mannheim City Airport, serves the German city of Mannheim and is located in the suburb of Neuostheim, just 3.5kms from the centre. Due to its location, it can't accommodate the landings of large commercial airlines. At present, it offers a route to Berlin-Tegel with Cirrus Airlines, although car hire in Mannheim Airport is available.

General aviation, a flying school and medivac services are provided here as well as basic passenger facilities in the terminal, including a restaurant, assistance for the disabled and car parking. The former, larger terminal is now in use as a commercial restaurant and beer garden, with a fitness club also on site.

The city centre of Mannheim and its historic buildings were flattened during WWII and modern developments here are of little interest to visitors. However, its lively multicultural aspect makes for a colourful and enjoyable experience, especially in its many local restaurants, bars and beer halls. The highlight of a visit to the area, however, is a daytrip to the old university city of Heidelberg, just a 10-minute drive away.
