Izumo Airport, found just 10kms to the east of downtown Izumo, overlooks the beautiful Lake Shinji in Shimane prefecture. It is just a 20-minute journey from Matsue with car hire in Izumo Airport. It serves domestic flights to Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka with Japan Airlines and Japan Air Commuter.
