Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

The only airport within the Central American region to boast two runways, Tocumen Airport is a large international airport found just 15kms from the capital of Panama. It is the busiest airport in the region and was given a major overhaul in 2006. The airport is found in the town of Tocumen, after which it takes its name.


Tocumen Airport facilities

There are two passenger terminals and a cargo terminal at the airport. Terminal 1 is the largest terminal and contains shops, duty-free stores, restaurants, cafés, bars and lounges. Muelle Norte is the newer terminal, boasting similar facilities to keep passengers satisfied. Car hire in Tocumen Airport is found in both terminals.
