During the evening, you can expect a lively nightlife in one of Madeira's many bars and pubs. The locals are friendly too and you won't have any problems with interacting with them since most of them know how to speak English. Just be reminded though that you might want to avail for a budget car rental in Monte Gordo Downtown during your stay in Madeira. It's basically a lot more cost-effective than taking the bus lines. You won't have to wait for minutes in the bus stop just to get to where you want to go.
