Although terminal 1 was indicated on the booking. The rental was booked out of terminal 2. After waiting for 90 mins at terminal 1 we had to then go to terminal 2 to collect the car

The lovely town of Saintes sits in the Charente-Maritime department on the western coast of France. Saintes is known for its historical attractions and pleasant surroundings. The town dates back to the Roman times and is said to be even older. A great way to get around is with car rental at Saintes Rail Station.

Saintes is famous for its rich heritage and the atmosphere of town. A centre of tourism and culture, visitors to Saintes enjoy the examples of history found throughout the town. Just walking through the older area of town you will notice the appealing houses here that are mostly made of limestone.

The luxurious houses in the old area are called ‘hotels'. Most of the houses date back from the 17th and 18th century. Hotel Presidial is a house from 1605 that is now used as a museum of Fine Arts. The Hotel de Monconseil sits on the banks of the Charente and is now the Dupuy Mestreau Museum.

With car hire at Saintes Rail Station you can easily visit the impressive houses around town. In the 18th century a group of wealthy merchants decided to build a number of houses, like the Hotel Rouyer Guillet. The beautiful place of Villa Musso was once a private house and is now the tourist office for Saintes.
